Family Support

Welcome to the Poringland Primary School Family Support Page. We understand that life can present challenges, and in times of need, it’s crucial to know where to turn for assistance.

If you’re a resident of Poringland seeking support, whether it’s access to the local food bank or assistance with essential necessities such as food and winter bills, we’re here to help. Reverend Robert Parsonage is the contact person for the Poringland food bank, reachable at 01508 492215

Additionally, residents can benefit from the Norfolk Assistance Scheme, providing vital support. Furthermore, Vicky Edge, the community connector at South Norfolk and Broadland District Council, stationed at Heathgate and Old Mill, is available to address a wide range of issues and ensure that families receive the entitled help. We’re committed to supporting our community in times of need, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you require assistance.

Family Support PSA

Hello families,

My name is Mrs Sara Chilvers and I am your Parent Support Advisor here at Poringland Primary School.

My role involves a wide range of support, including general parenting advice, behaviour management, setting routine and positive boundaries, managing finances, addiction & recovery, housing issues, bereavement and separation.

We always try our best to support our families and children in house; however, we also work closely with many local services and organisations that can help us to help you. We can work together to refer to the right service at the right time.

Please do get in touch with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Email: schilvers42rr@nsix.org.uk

Alternatively, you can leave a message at the School Office on: 01508 492530

Domestic Abuse

As violence and abuse in the home is so common, we now routinely speak to parents and carers about it. As part of our commitment to safeguarding our families, Miss Burdett and Mrs Chilvers are our Domestic Abuse Champions trained by the Norfolk County Community Safety Partnership.

If you, or someone you know, is affected by Domestic Abuse, please contact anyone in the school that you feel safe with.  Miss Burdett can be contacted by email lburdett75rb@nsix.org.uk. Mrs Chilvers, our PSA, can also be contacted by email schilvers42rr@nsix.org.uk. Alternatively, please feel free to call the school or pop in and ask to speak to either staff member.

Only call or email if you feel safe to do so.  Alternatively, please ask to speak to a member of staff when visiting the school.
